These benefits are only for members who paid alumni lifetime membership fee. If you are not a member, you need a registration and payment before issuing a membership card. To become a member you must have a graduation record of Ritsumeikan University.
1. Library
Libraries shows in below are open to alumni (*usage registration required). Facility availability guide is as followed. Prior to your usage, please read contents thoroughly.

The card is available at these three libraries.
Some areas of the facilities are restricted.
Available Services
- Reference, photocopy, loaning of the materials in possession of Kinugasa Library, Media Center and Media Library.
- You can borrow as many as 3 copies and as long as 14 days.
- When wishing to extend the loaning period, bring the materials in person to the library for renewal.
- Reserved books may be not renewed.
- “In house only” material cannot be checked out.
- Rare & closed stack materials are subject to non-reference, non-photocopy or non-check-out.

The materials in possession of in-campus research organizations(*1) are subject to non-reference, non-photocopy. (Prior permission is required. Neither the same day reference nor check-out is permitted)
- When wishing to reefer to any of them, contact Kinugasa library reference counter.You may refer to the materials on/after the next day you request.
- You may neither check out the materials nor access to the research-related stack.

How to Apply
To obtain a library card, bring the following document to either one of the counters for the necessary procedures:
Necessary materials for application
- Either one of the identifications with your current name and address on it : drivers license, health insurance, alien registration card, resident card (issued within a month).
- Application form (library prescribed).
- Alumni membership card (lifetime membership fee payment record)
Service counter for application
- – Kinugasa Library information counter (1st floor)

- – OIC Library service counter (2nd floor, Building B)
- Your application form is accepted between the opening and one-hour before the closing on service days.
- See the Web site or service schedule on the bulletin of each library for the service days and hours information.
- After confirming your alumni membership, your card will be issued immediately. If you apply on weekends, your card may be issued after a few days.
Library Card
- An alumni can have one card issued and it is valid for use from date of issue for the on-card mentioned period.
- Bring your card for the use of the libraries in Kyoto Kinugasa and Biwako-Kusatsu.
- See the notice for the use on the back of the card.
- When lost or damaged, contact the counter where you submitted your application form. (Reissue fee ¥200 is required).
- If there is any change (e.g.,in your address, place of work, telephone number), immediately contact the counter where you submitted your application form.
- When the card is no longer valid or you are no longer disqualified, return the card immediately.
- When wishing to renew the card, you are requested to reapply.
Rules and Regulations for Use
- For every users comfort, the following behaviors are prohibited. Otherwise, you may be disqualified and declined your further use.
- Bring in your own home videos or audiotapes to be appreciated in the library
- Bring infants or small children
- Smoke, eat, drink, chat, read aloud
- Sublet the card or already being loaned materials
- Activities which disturb other users or interfere with study
- Check out any materials without permission
- Use cell phones, other such devices
- Activities against public order and good morals, or activates prohibited by each library’s regulations and rules likewise
- When checking out the library, see if there is any unprocessed materials for check-out. Auto detector is installed at the check-out gate.
- Counter service (including check-out, return) will be finished 15 minutes prior to the closing hour.
- If you return overdue materials, you cannot borrow items for the equivalent overdue days.
- When any materials or equipment is lost or damaged, you will be deemed to pay the full amount of the lost/damaged.
- There is no locker available for users in the library or on campus. You are responsible for taking care of your personal belongings.
- There is no automobile/auto bike parking facilities.

2. Ritsumeikan Tokyo Campus
Ritsumeikan Tokyo Campus supports students, alumni and other relatives both Ritsumeiakn University and APU in metropolitan area. The office activates in many ways such as offering the students abundant firm information within the vicinity of Tokyo station, and consulting for student job hunting. Some spaces and facilities are open for alumni (*no support for issuing any official certifications).

4. Alumni Salon
As a member of the Alumni Association you are entitled to use the Alumni salons which locates on campuses for alumni to meet or pass the time at their alma-mater. Please read the rules on below prior to use:

You will be able to view the permanent exhibits after filling in the necessary forms. Please note that tours will be limited to alumni members and a limited number of accompanying individuals.

2. Notices and Requests
- Users are not required to apply before use. Please note that it is difficult to correspond with users outside of the hours of operation.
- The Alumni Salon except Suzaku Campus are places where alumni can interact with the general public and Ritsumeikan employees. Please understand that this area is not exclusively for the use of alumni.
- The Alumni salons are not fit for large alumni group gatherings. (Suitable for approximately 1 group with max10 members.)
- Please contact the Alumni Office for details regarding inquiries during the summer and new year holiday periods as well as requests for campus maps etc.
